La San Francisco

The city which birthed the "hippy" movement in the 60's had an air of change and struggle blowing in the streets. It was surreal skating past huge graffiti walls and literally dodging homeless people of all ethnicities and ages either bundled up in sleeping bags, loitering or talking trash. It seemed skaters, cyclists and pedestrians had the right of way and one of the major downtown streets was suddenly blocked by protesters voicing their dissatisfaction with their government. We were promptly approached by the 5.0 and told to "get on the sidewalk or well take your boards - and your sandwiches too!".
